Would you call a tree a loser?
9 July 2022Same Decision, It’s Just The Outcome That’s Changed
9 July 2022Where do thoughts come from, and how can you change the ones you don’t like? How can you stop thinking thoughts that are painful and don’t lead to actions that are of value to you?
These are questions that have occupied the brightest minds to have lived on his earth, and still no one know how brains make thoughts.
This is the @rapidresolutiontherapy (RRT) (The Institute for Rapid Resolution Therapy, Inc.) way of looking at things.
It’s not presented as the truth, but it’s proven to be effective in clearing troublesome thoughts, mental disturbances and trauma.
When Jon Connelly, PHD, MSW, LCSW facilitates an RRT session with a participant, he usually begins by explaining his way of seeing things.
I used a transcript of one of those conversations to write this post.
? ????????? ???????
There is a guy with a Bluetooth speaker, and he’s shaking it and smacking on the ground. He is looking more than a little frustrated. You ask him what’s wrong.
He says, “I just don’t like this playlist. I’m trying to get it to play something else.”
You know that the music is being played ??????? the speaker, but it’s not playing ???? the speaker. So you say to him that he’s not going to change the playlist by bashing the speaker.
The only way he can do that is by going to what’s causing the playlist to be played – the computer, the phone or whatever.

??’? ??? ???? ???? ????????.
Your conscious mind is like the Bluetooth speaker: it’s presenting thoughts and feelings, but it’s not causing them. What’s causing them is below the level of conscious awareness. Your unconscious mind is selecting the playlist.
Bashing, shaking and arguing with the conscious mind won’t change the playlist because it’s not conscious mind that’s choosing it.

You try and change the way you’re feeling from where you’re feeling it, or the way you’re thinking from where you’re thinking it.
Other people seem to expect that from you.
You hear people say things, like:
? You should let that go.
? You should stop caring that.
? You should move ahead.
? You should have a better attitude.
? Cheer up.
But it doesn’t work.
In the words of Dr. Jon Connelly, “that stuff never didn’t make much sense to me.”
