miraculous, mysterious, highly complex mind.
You are fine.
How you see the world and how you respond to it reflects how your mind processes data.
It says nothing about the world and nothing about you.
The inner workings of the human mind are still one of the last great mysteries of our universe. Despite the advances made every year, and the mind being better understood than ever before, no one knows what makes ‘me’ me and ‘you’ you.
No one can really know why they did anything. The mind is just too complex for simple explanations. Focusing on ‘why’ questions generally brings more unhappiness, not less.
Billions of neurons make up the brain. They live in pitch dark, accompanied by the gurgles and pulses of your organs. None of them are ever in direct contact with the world they survey.
It is a miracle. It would be even more extraordinary if it could perceive the world as it is. But even that idea has no legs.
Failing at something we wanted to do, being treated badly by someone important to us, illness and the suffering of loved ones all affect the way that our mind process data coming from both inside and outside.
Experiences that are too big for us to assimilate, too threatening for us to deal with all in one go, also affect how we process data.
